Thornhurst Township, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania

Thornhurst Township is a township in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 1,085 at the 2010 census.
The township was established in 1878 as Lehigh Township, named for the Lehigh River. In 1996, to eliminate confusion between this and the township of the same name in Wayne County, the township changed its name to Thornhurst, the name of a community within the southern portion of the township.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Thornhurst Township History )
==Geography==
According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 23.2 square miles (60.2 km²), of which, 23.0 square miles (59.6 km²) of it is land and 0.2 square miles (0.6 km²) of it (1.03%) is water.
